my friend has a pacman frog and he keeps it with a cuban knight anole "it is a farily large tank" and he is probably planning on separating them. for 1 reason. he never sees them eat! I've honestly only seen the pacman frog eat once. we took him out and put him in an extra tank with 3 or 4 crickets. they were right in front of his face and the only thing he did was a pathetic attempt to lunge at one cricket... and he missed. he did not try after that. my friend tried turning on his heat lamp wich made him a little more active. do you think the heat lamp should stay on? why does his pac man frog never seem to eat? he has a big buldge on only 1 side of his body. the anole never seems to eat either.. help?

  1. I agree with spenda. also a pacman frog once it gets big wil think  that anole is a tasty treat.  in the wild pacman frogs eat frogs, rodents, snakes, newts, sallamanders, and lizards.  parasites from the anole probably infected the frog.  your friend should have reaserched before he acted.  I hope your friend sticks to fish, which he should research on before he buys, and mice, hamsters or guinie pigs.

  2. probably with the anole its probably the stress of having the other near by all the time or the incompatiable tempreture and humidity ranges.

with the pacman it sounds pretty ill either a parasite (which it probably caught of the anole) or a infection or disease (probably from the anole) and needs to see a herp (reptile and amphibian) vet asap

and people wonder why u shouldnt mix species. as mixing goes this was a pretty bad choice since u cant get the right temps for both at the same time

also u shouldnt use heat lamps with pacmans because it dries them out u need an undertank heat pad attached to the side (outside) with a coco panel or something covering the inside.

tell your friend to have fun killing his pets and next time learn how to care for an animal before he gets it. (personally i hope he never "cares" for another animal as long as he lives)
