The newly promoted club, Celta Vigo, are facing the defending champions, Real Madrid, at Bernabeu on this coming Saturday and their coach, Herrera, is pessimistic about the outcome of the match.
The 58-year-old coach has already written off the chances of his team against the Spanish champions, Real Madrid, as he admitted that his team’s chances of getting a result in this particular fixture are highly slim.
However, he wants his team to focus on themselves, play their own game and show some bravery.
“We have a 90 percent chance of losing but I still want to see my team be brave and try to play the game properly,” he admitted.
The reigning champions, Real Madrid, are in great form at the moment but they are also under a lot of pressure as they are already eight points behind arch-rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and can’t afford to drop more points in La Liga.
That is why the Celta Vigo tactician knows that the odds against his team are high and that Real Madrid are by far the favourites to win this game.
Still, he believes his team can improve their odds if they believe that they can beat them.
“We have to believe that we can beat them, and turn that ten per cent into 50 per cent. Although I'm thrilled we have that ten per cent,” he quipped.
Meanwhile, the coach feels that regardless of who their opponents are, his team should focus on themselves and play their own football.
“We will try to be ourselves and play proper football. Its better die with our ideals intact.”
Finally, Herrera believes that his players don’t need any extra motivation from him and that the magnitude and gravity of the match itself should be enough inspiration for his players.
“The players don't need any motivation. I don't need to ask anyone to put in any extra effort, because the opponents and the stadium should do that,” he concluded.
Celta Vigo got its promotion back to La Liga following five years of absence.
They have to hold their nerves when they travel to Bernabeu on Saturday, October 20.
