The 42-year-old tactician claimed that postponement of Rayo’s domestic meeting with Real Madrid will be harsh on their loyal fans who will have a hard time to attend the encounter.
Delaying of Rayo Vallecano’s La Liga fixture against Real Madrid at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas is a blow for the fans, according to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paco-c29025 Jemez. The former Los Franjirrojos centre-back shared that it will be hard for fans to attend the fixture.
In the wake of the mishap, Jose Mourinho had stated that the match should be played at 5pm under sunlight and the officials should not rely upon artificial lighting after the vandalism to the ground that had forced the delay.
Jemez shared that he would advise against playing at such a time as fans would not be able to attend La Liga fixture. He gave his own example to support his statement, claiming that he himself would shun attending a football match at such a time.
The Las Palmas born trainer revealed his soft spot for Vallecanos faithful as he lent his voice to their cause after being forced to buy 25 Euros tickets for the Madrid derby.
“If we are asked to play at 5pm [local time] I will refuse, because people will not be able to come and watch the game,” Jemez commented.
“Particularly our fans won’t be able to come and see us. The losers are all the people who had their ticket and could not see a game tonight.”
Continuing on the topic, Jemez shared that the club have a number of options at the hands and are currently evaluating the choices.
He stated that the first turn of business is to get the lights fixed and wait for LFP officials to give them an alternative time and date if the match cannot be played on Monday, 24 September 2012.
“40,000 options are currently being considered, but first let’s fix the lights and then the Federation can fix a time and date, in view of the not fixing it means we can’t play.”
Despite losing a host of their first team players, Rayo Vallecano have enjoyed a good start to the season. They have accumulated 7 points from their 4 La Liga outings, 3 more than Real Madrid.
