Pacquiao being favoured over Marquez for their fourth fight – Boxing News
Mexican fighter Juan Manuel Marquez would be saddened to know that fight analysts are still favouring Manny Pacquiao over him, even though the Mexican believes he defeated Pacquiao all three times. Both the fighters will be locking horns for the fourth time
on December 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao, who recently lost his WBO welterweight title to American unbeaten fighter Timothy Bradley, has won two out of three fights against Marquez. The first fight between the two ended up in a tie, while the rest two were won by Pacquiao via unanimous
and split decision.
As of now, the betting odds show that Pacquiao is at -400, meaning he is the favourite over Marquez. Marquez believes that he has defeated Pacquiao all three times, despite the decisions being against him.
The Mexican now wants to knock the Filipino out to show the world that he indeed is the better fighter in the ring.
“It's very important for me to knock Pacquiao out. I don't want to be in the ring and worked so hard and know I won the fight and have my heart [broken] again. I need to knock him out this time,” said Marquez during the press conference held for the fight’s
announcement.
He added, “I have to adjust, because what I did, even though I thought I won those fights, the judges didn't give them to me. He knows me, and I know him. But boxing is a sport you have to adjust and adapt.”
It seems like both fighters are in rage and they will be making their best efforts to ensure they reign dominant over the other.
By looking at their past fights, one could say that even though Pacquiao could not work his magic against Marquez, he still was better when it comes to speed and power punching. Marquez, on the other hand, is an extreme counter puncher, which gives him the
opportunity to stand toe to toe against Pacquiao.
This is Marquez last chance to prove that he can beat Pacquiao. If he fails, he will go down in history as just another opponent of Pacquiao.
