Pacquiao claims his upcoming fight with Marquez is the most important of his career – Boxing news
Manny Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), has claimed his much-anticipated upcoming trilogy fight with the current World Boxing Association Super, World
Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight world champion, Juan Manuel Marquez, is the most important of his career.
The Pac-Man, Pacquiao, who is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, will lock horns with Marquez on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and he has admitted losing is not an option for him.
“This is kind of a special fight; the most important fight in my career, because I want this fight to be the answer to all the doubts that have been raised,” he said.
Marquez and Pacquiao both met first in May 2004 at the same MGM Arena and their bout ended up in a much controversial draw. Their second meeting which was in March 2008 also had a similar story, as this time Pacquiao was awarded a split decision. Therefore,
there are a lot of doubts in everyone’s mind about their previous fights. Moreover, Marquez recently went to Philippines wearing a t-shirt which said he was robbed in his previous two fights against Pacquiao.
Pacquiao stated he has never been more motivated for any of his fights. He said he cannot wait to get into the ring to prove Marquez wrong about his t-shirt.
“I have never been so motivated as I am for this fight,” Pacquiao said on Wednesday before sparring with his trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood. “I almost can't wait for the fight. I want to prove that he was wrong in wearing
that T-shirt claiming he won the last two fights.”
The 32-year-old Pacquiao, who has won 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draw), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is known for his gentle behaviour in the ring and he does not like to declare anything ahead of his bouts.
However, this time Pacquiao has vowed he will defeat Marquez in a convincing way so that he clears up all doubts.
