Pacquiao vs. Bradley’s officials announced – Boxing News
Manny Pacquiao will be heading towards his title defence against Timothy Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Earlier today, officials of the event were announced by Francisco Valcarcel, President of WBO. Robert Byrd is chosen as the referee
for the match and Duane Ford, Jerry Roth and CJ Ross will be the judges. According to Valcarcel, all the officials are well experienced Nevada Athletic Commission officials. Hailing from Hungary, Istvan Kovacs will be the WBO supervisor of the bout.
WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will be entering the ring this Saturday to make his fourth title defence. On the other hand, Timothy Bradley, the current WBO junior welter champion will not only challenge Pacquiao for the title but will also defend
his unbeaten streak. As of now, Manny Pacquiao stands with 54 wins, 3 losses and 38 knockouts, whereas Bradley stands with 28 wins, 0 losses and 12 knockouts.
Pacquiao finished his training camp today and is now preparing to fly to Las Vegas. Earlier this week, when asked about Bradley’s fighting style and his preparation for the bout, Pacquiao said, “Bradley is a different type of fighter and we don’t take this
fight lightly. We have trained hard for Bradley because he is the type of fighter we cannot underestimate. I don’t know what Tim Bradley will bring in the ring on that night, but we will be ready for whatever he brings.”
On the other hand, Bradley asserted, “I’m putting it all on the line so you are going to see a great fight. If you miss this fight, you are going to miss some greatness. This is the beginning of a new career. This is like my first fight all over again.”
Both the fighters are confident of giving their best in the ring. Bradley needs to prove that he is capable of taking on bigger fighters like Pacquiao, Mayweather and Marquez by grabbing a win. On the other hand, Pacquiao needs to prove that he still is
the number on pound for pound fighter and he can take on fighters of today’s generation.
