Pacquio is moving into dangerous territory. He will be stalking Diaz in his own domain. One thing going for him though is that he is faster and perceived to be stronger. If he can carry that speed and strength into the lightweight division, this will be his match.

Diaz, on the other hand, seems to be approaching this bout intelligently. he has revealed that pacquiao rests in between assualts and he plans to exploit that.

This will be a very good match.

on a boxer v boxer comparison:

note that diaz has been knocked out by el terrible morales in his final and memorable fight, in which morales was in the lowest point of his career, same morales that pacquiao knocks out in their trilogies. though morales lost in 12 by decision, it was such an exciting fight and the scores were tight as paste.

unbiased, i see manny winning in the middle rounds.

both are quick in terms of mobility (they should be, they're in the lower weight categories) but if the footspeed and handspeed are concerned. pacquiao wins, hands down.

power shots, consistency in strength : diaz does not have that amazing drop dead punch that pacquiao has that is able to turn situations in his favor. Pacquiao has a higher KO percentage in his KO's more or less 70+%, Diaz has exactly 50%.

Toughness: pacquiao has a granite chin, so does diaz.

Overall: Power/speed goes to pacquiao. the stamina factor i hand to diaz. Skills-wise, pacquiao is the better man, but diaz is not far away.

This is going to be full of action, although it may be one sided. Diaz' porous defence is compensated only by his toughness. He may have survived Morales in decline, but can he survive Pacquiao in his prime? The step up in weight class for Pacquiao is a natural progression for his age and may even work to his advantage.

Diaz' aggressive style will also work in Pacquiao's favour, since Pacquiao has amazing evasive skills as displayed in his fights against Morales and Marquez. He will dance around Diaz and hit him from angles. Pacquiao should win by TKO in the middle rounds only because Diaz has amazing durability, but it should be target practice for Manny.
