maybe hatton is naturally bigger of the two but paquiao is not a human..he can do impossible things right before his countryman, remember when he beat barrera. when he beat morales and marquez. his the huge underdog on those fight but he delivered the knocked out blow on these 3 mexican star. his career started from minimum weight up to junior light weight so why he cant make junior welterweight too? his on his peak on his career..

  1. I think that pacquio would...i dont think that hatton is all the great

  2. it would be a great fight. pacquiao and hatton fight alike. I predict pacquiao by split decision.

  3. i think pac-man can win this one hatton might be naturally bigger but he has a weak chin and im not talking about the mayweather fight remeber when he fought Luis Collazo(who has no punching power at all) hatton was out on his feet he was saved by a clinch and terrible referee.

  4. Hatton is 5' 6 1/2 With a 65 Inch Reach and Pacquiao is 5' 6 1/2 with a 67 Inch Reach and they are both 29 yaers old and both of these guys have similar styles its a come foward action packed style and Pacquiao is a superstar at what he does. So im not going to be the one to dought him. I give him a great chance if not the advatage in the fight because of his heart and will power.

I hope this mega fight gets made in 2009 because Hatton vs Malinaggi is expected this year. 2009 should be a great year of boxing with Hatton-Pacquiao and Mayweather-Cotto....Hopefully.

  5. I like Pacquiao, but he really has no business going to 140, unless he is going to change his style of fighting. He would need to seriously rely on boxing more at the higher weight divisions. Right now, Pacquiao's style would get him slaughter against naturally bigger men. Ricky Hatton has been fighting his entire career at 140+. Pacquiao has been knocked out twice at much smaller divisions and has been rocked by Marquez. Hatton being naturally bigger and stronger than Marquez and the two fighters that KO'd Pacquiao would definitely be a nightmare for Pacquiao. Pacquiao can't and shouldn't risk slugging it out with a junior welterweight.

Diego Corrales who was known for his power at 130 and 135, moved up to 147 to face a natural welterweight, Joshua Clottey. Corrales probably thought that his same style that he uses to win would work against a naturally bigger Clottey, but in the end it backfired and Corrales was beaten badly. The same would happen to Pacquiao if he goes into a fight with Hatton thinking he can trade it out with him.

  6. This would be an absolute war if it ever does come off in the future. It seems that Manny might well be thinking about it as when talk about this fight was first mentioned a few months ago he has all of a sudden he has made the jump to Lightweight which gives this fight more of a chance of happening if Manny does ok at that weight. At this point in time i only see Hatton winning because it will be hard to jump 2 divisions and fight a world class fighter as Hatton found out when trying to jump up one but in a couple of years if Pacquiao does the moving up properly this could be one of the fights of the decade and the biggest payday ever for both as everyone would want to see this one.

  7. Ricky Hatton will destroy Pacquiao inside six rounds, Marquez hurt Pacquiao with body shots what will Hatton do too him ?? a lot of junior welters would beat Pacquiao, Pacquiao would come forward and Hatton is far too strong for him.

  8. I feel the boxing fans are tired of the boring chess match between De La Hoya and Mayweather. I think they are looking for an exciting fight won by a knock out. That fight would be Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton. The boxing fans would pay for this fight and I feel it can break the De La Hoya and Mayweather sells record. Hatton beats only if they fight in the UK. Pacquiao wins in the Phillipines. In Las Vegas? Maybe Pacquiao. It would be a great fight. Just my opinion though.

  9. I think that check hook took too much out of Hatton to the point where I doubt he'll do anything other than fight easy opponents within the confines of his home country.  He was exposed against Floyd, and I doubt he'll have the confidence to ever take another risky fight.

  10. Who says the fight would happen in the Philippines. Hatton vs Pacquiao would be too big fot that. It would happen at Wembley Stadium in Engalnd (in front of 90,000), or, most probably, at the MGM Grand in Vegas.

As I commented last week, I can't see this one happening until late 2009, at the least. Pacquiao seems set to try and dominate at 135, whereas Hatton is at 140. Hatton is able to bully people at 140, and as good, quick and powerful as Manny is, south of 135, I see Ricky grinding Pacman down with body shots and combos up top, finally stopping Pacquiao in the 11th round.
