Paddy Lowe says McLaren always push to the limits to get best out of their car – Formula 1 news
McLaren’s technical director Paddy Lowe has said that the team always tries its best to push to the limit in order to get the best out of their respective car which is the MP4-26 for the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Nevertheless, Lowe claims that the team still has some pace left in its car which has not been unlocked and the team is going to give its best shot at the upcoming British Grand Prix.
“We've got stuff going, the sort of normal updates - bodywork parts - that were happening anyway. I saw that quote [from Hamilton] and we don't understand it actually; I think there's a little bit of misunderstanding by the drivers about some things that
we'd done. There's absolutely no aspect that we don't push to the ragged edge on what we can with the performance of the car. We are absolutely not a conservative racing operation,” Lowe told the media.
McLaren have been struggling to cope up with Red Bull Racing so far in the 2011 Formula 1 season as the team is yet to score a pole position keeping in mind that 8 races have already been completed.
Both of the team’s drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have secured a victory each in 2011 but they are way off the current championship leader Sebastian Vettel in terms of points and pace.
Vettel is currently leading the 2011 Formula 1 championship by 186 points which is 77 points more than Jenson Button and Mark Webber who are his closest rivals.
It seems that the 2011 Formula 1 season has pretty much ended until or unless McLaren push to the very limit which seems unlikely.
Either way, Lowe claimed that the team is hoping of taking some risks in the near future and it seems that they are going to try its best to score some good results at the upcoming races. Otherwise, they would have to shift their focus to their 2012 car
in order to ensure the best possible package for the upcoming season.
