Question:

Paddywagon Tours in Ireland?

I'm looking to take a tour of Ireland this summer, but I don't know what company to book with. I have a feeling that with some of these tours I will be the youngest person there by at least 15 years. I've looked at Paddywagon Tours which caters to young adults, but I don't know if they're any good. They don't seem as professional as the other places. Does anyone have experinece with them and could help me out?

  1. I have been on a few Paddy wagon tours and well as all my family members who came to visit me while I was living in Ireland.I found them to be very good and as well as all my family who have been on a Paddy wagon tour.Paddy  wagon tours are are a fantastic way to see Ireland if you are on a budget. The age group that usually use Paddy wagon tours are young between 18 to 35 and on the odd occasion you would find some one in the 40's or 50's (but that's rare). When your own a Paddy wagon tour you don't stay in hotels, you stay in hostels. All the hostels I have stayed at while I was on any of the tours, they have all been very nice and clean hostels.I know that if you decide to go on a Paddy wagon tour you will have a brill time.I hope I was of some help.Take care.

  2. you could try contiki tours - they cater with tours to people 18-35 yrs old. my sister used them when she went to scotland and had a lot of fun.

personally, i'm all for the experience of renting a car & driving around the country myself, staying either at B&Bs along the way. you get to experience the culture of a country a little more in depth than in a tour. (we're going next month to ireland, and this is what we're doing.)

  3. Paddywagon tours are very professional and a very well known and well run company, don't let the gimmicky name, green minibus and cheesy motif of Leprechauns put you off =]

  4. Paddywagon Tours sounds like something we'd be involved with!

  5. While I'm not familiar with Paddywagon (though I did see their bus while on vacation in Ireland), I can tell you that I just returned from a Vagabond Tour, and it was great.  If you're really looking to meet new people, and find people to explore with, I'm not sure if it's for you.  But the tour was fabulous, showing us non-touristy, beautiful Ireland, and letting us do all sorts of adventure activities more likely to appeal to younger people (e.g. kayaking, horseback riding, hiking).  Good luck with whatever tour you pick!
