Well for awhile now, and it dosen't happen everyday but it has happened often enough that I'm beginging to notice. My hands will begin to cramp throughout the whole day randomly, or one of my hands will hurt really badly usually around my wrist or my fingers, or sometimes just my finger will hurt really bad on the joints, is this normal? I'm only 15 years old.

  1. No, neither the cramps or the pain. What used to be called growing pains only refers to something called Osgood-Schlatter disease, and it only affects the knees of certain teens, so you should not be suffering from any type of cramps or pains.

See if you are not dehydrated. Dehydration can cause hand cramps.

Check if you are not spending too much time on the net. Carpal tunnel syndrome does sound a lot like what you describe.

And last but not least, be alert to other symptoms, like running a low grade fever or headaches or all over malaise, which might be signs (along with the joint pain) of rheumatoid arthritis, which can be caused by staph from your throat.

Edit: I cannot tell you exactly what is wrong with you, but i would suggest changing doctors, a pediatrician should be seeing you. To rule out a staph infection, all you need is a simple throat culture test. Please read this.

    Rheumatoid fever symptoms.

In children, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, also known as Still's disease, is usually preceded by high fever and shaking chills along with pain and swelling in many joints. A pink skin rash may be present. The hallmark symptom of rheumatoid arthritis is morning stiffness that lasts for at least an hour. Swelling and pain in the joints must occur for at least 6 weeks before a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis is considered. The inflamed joints are usually swollen and often feel warm and "boggy" when touched. The pain often occurs symmetrically but may be more severe on one side of the body, depending on which hand the person uses more often.

    Carpal tunnel syndrome

Symptoms usually start gradually, with frequent burning, tingling, or itching numbness in the palm of the hand and the fingers, especially the thumb and the index and middle fingers. Some carpal tunnel sufferers say their fingers feel useless and swollen, even though little or no swelling is apparent. The symptoms often first appear in one or both hands during the night, since many people sleep with flexed wrists. A person with carpal tunnel syndrome may wake up feeling the need to "shake out" the hand or wrist. As symptoms worsen, people might feel tingling during the day. Decreased grip strength may make it difficult to form a fist, grasp small objects, or perform other manual tasks. In chronic and/or untreated cases, the muscles at the base of the thumb may waste away. Some people are unable to tell between hot and cold by touch.

    Hope it helps a little.
