Pain all the way down my right leg & butt at 37 weeks pregnant?

I'm 37 weeks & 3days pregnant with my 2nd baby. For the last few days I have been getting this pain down the right side from my butt/hip all the way down the side & back of my leg. To the point where if I'm not holding on to something, I may fall down because it gets to where my leg goes numb. I woke up today and it is 10 times worse! The only thing that helps is to sit in one spot. Even to just adjust and change positions hurts. Any little pressure I put on that side hurts. And to stand up is such a mission. I have to hold onto everything and stand up as slow as possible. Which at times is difficult because I have a 3 year old daughter who is running my home right now with me not being able to chase her. What is this pain? Anybody else feel it this far along in pregnancy? I have a doctor appt on Thursday, so I will definately be asking about this...

  1. Sounds like baby is probably sitting on your sciatic nerve, which is very very common especially at the end of a pregnancy!

I had a friend who's little one would randomly land on her sciatic nerve at the end of her pregnancy, and she couldn't walk or move whenever it happened.  Her husband even had to wheel her out of a grocery store on the end of a cart one afternoon because the pain got so bad she couldn't take another step!

I'm not sure if there's anything they can do to help with the pain or not.  My first thought would be to lay on the opposite side and try to get baby to move off of that nerve.

Good luck and hopefully your little one will decide to hurry and get here!!

  2. sounds like you sciatic nerve...definitely ask your doc and take a nice

    warm bath!
