Pain in area of thumb and forefinger on my hand. Please help?

Question

For the past 3 days, I have had pain in the area of my thumb and forefinger on my right hand. If I grip a jar to open the lid, I get the pain stronger. Its almost like a tightness. I dont know why it is hurting me like this because I didnt do anything to aggravate it (At least nothing I can think of)

I'm 28 years old so I'm not sure if it is arthritus.

Can anyone suggest whaqt this is and how to treat it?

It sounds like a muscle thing so my first and only guess )I'm no doctor) would be arthritis.  Go get it looked at professionaly.
