  1. there's a product called Swim Ear...all it really is i rubbung alcohol. i dab a q-tip in alcohol...all better

  2. did u try hydrogen peroxide and alcohol? that works for me. dont try swimming till the infection has gone away. u dont want ur team getting it, now do u? lol

  3. They might put those draining tube things in your ears along with anti biotics...No really sure tho...It also depends on the severity. You will probably have to take a brake from swimming or maybe wear earplugs? Ask your doctor what options you have.

  4. If it's actually SWIMMERS' EAR (a specific condition that involves the inflamation of the tubes in the ear), then they will give you an antibiotic and advise you to stay out of the water for at least 5-10 days. A lot of times though, people who swim just call any pain, caused by a number of different things, swimmers' ear. If that's the case and you don't actually have SWIMMER'S EAR, the suggestion of rubbing alcohol will help a lot with the pain and will probably allow you to get right back in the water. (Just a couple of drops of alcohol for a couple of seconds in each ear dries the water up and helps prevent infections). That won't really help if you actually have THE swimmer's ear, though.  A good way to tell if you're unsure if you really have it or not is to press on the area just below and around your ear. If you have actual swimmers ear, it will be painful to the touch.

If you don't have swimmers ear, and the alcohol doesn't work, you probably have an ear infection which will still require antibiotics and probably at least a week out of the water.
