Pain in right shoulder after drinking soda????

everytime my husband drinks soda, he has severe pain in his right shoulder/chest/arm. he cant give up soda, but out of curiosity, does anyone know what it could be?

PS. he broke his radius/ulna of the right arm when he was a kid, and ihis arm hurts every winter..when it gets cold.. could there be a connection?

  1. well, i doubt it can be because of soda.  there must be something else.

    the ulna/radius hurting in the winter after being broken is actually quite normal.  my father dislocated his sholder years ago.  now when it gets cold, it will hurt.  just make sure his arm stays nice and cold.

  4. It could be gas. We belch after drinking colas to release the gas trapped in the bubbles (which makes it fizzy). When the gas isn't released, pressure builds up inside the esophagus, causing chest pain. Or it could be acid. Carbonated and caffeine-containing drinks trigger a release of stomach acids which can travel up your esophagus. The resulting pain is also felt in the chest area.
