Pain in right side of neck?

Ok so I woke up this morning and I hear a crick-crack on the right side of my neck. Then all of a sudden a huge shooting pain on the side I heard the crack. It would hurt so bad every time I moved or just tried to lift my head. It still hurts extremely now, but only when I put my head a little right. And also sometimes I just feel the pain randomly happening... It's been like this for about half an hour-an hour. Any ideas what's happening?

Some of this sounds like there could have been air bubbles that popped (an example only).  Some of this also sounds like you may have pulled some muscles in that area (another example only, but I have had this happen to me before).

The only way to find out for sure what's going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.
