Pain in upper right abdomen?

I've been getting an acute pain in my upper right abdomen for two years, recent x-rays showed that my liver appears to be bright and coarse. Could someone please advise as to what this means. Am I in the final stages or are there survival chances? Please advice.

It could mean a number of things such as it being inflammed, or having to deal with fat (both examples only).  It could also mean an infection (another example only).

I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to ask them to please explain further what these findings mean.
