Question:

Pain in wrist could it be RSI?

I have a pain in my right hand and it travels down the inside of my wrist. If I clench my fist or hold a pen tightly the pain gets bad and goes on up my arm.

Yesterday evening I was stuck on a train for 3.75 hours and played games on my phone and ipod. I first got the pain when I woke this morning. Could it be RSI and what can I do to relieve/cure it?

  1. It could be slight carpal tunnel.  You need to try not to use that hand to play games for a while.  Repetitive actions for long periods of time make it worse.  Rest it.  Use an ace bandage for a while with your hand in a comfortable positions. It is a good position to make a C with your fingers and hand, keep your wrist straight and wrap it.

  2. yes this sounds like rsi or carpel tunnel syndrome.

try to limit your use of games and things which cause repetitive use of your fingers such as texting playing games typing etc.

i would advise to to get this checked by your GP as carpel tunnel could need a small op to free up the nerves etc that are crushed.

either way physio is a good way to go to help prevent this in the future
