i'm 19 and i've been sick with something for the past week. it's different from what i'm used to. i've been having a continuous low grain fever since last saturday, along with a headache and sore throat. on top of that also, everytime i try to inhale deeply, i get a sharp pain on my left side underneath my ribcage. if i yawn it hurts, same with hiccuping. i've never had this issue before so it's concerning me. a few things to mention though: last saturday and sunday i drank vodka 2 nights in a row because i was upstate with friends. even though i felt pretty sick, i took tylenol then the alcohol camoflauged the sickness. i don't know if that would effect me now, but i just mentioned it anyway. never threw up or anything either. another point: i was scared it was pregnancy, i'm due for my period but my track record for the past few summers is me not getting my period because i'm more active. i haven't had it in 2 months, but it's concerning me because i became sexually active only a few months ago. upstate my boyfriend and i had s*x for 2 hours, that's the longest ever, i don't know if that has something to do with why i've been sick (we use condoms, and i have an irregular period ranging from about 40 - 70 days usually). i also took 2 pregnancy tests within the last week just in case, and they were negative. i've just never had a pain like this before, and a continuous fever and headache like this. it's really bringing me down. i'm rarely sick but this is really bothering me. i also went to the doctor this past friday night cause i kept seeing heat flashes and i was really dizzy. it was like a joke, she just gave me motrin and said i had a fever. didn't even check my stomach really. she checked where the pain was and saw i had difficulty breathing, but took no mind. my appetite has been great too which is really odd. usually i lose weight when sick but this time my appetite is fine. i don't seem to be contagious too. usually my family catches eachothers sickness' so quickly, but this time it's different. it's just strange =/. i've been living on motrin and usually it works but everyday i wake up feeling consistantly the same.. what is going on?
