Question:

Pain under right breast/rib?

I have a throbbing pain under my right rib Cage (behind my breast). It comes in waves. It is not a very painful pain... just annoying. I have been to the Dr. and he feels that it is a pulled muscle in my rib cage. I have acid reflux and we talked about Gall Bladder. I have no "symptoms" of gall bladder. Greasy foods don't make it worse or better and some days I have no pain at all. This has gone on for about 3 weeks. It feels better (goes away) when I lay down. Any clues on what this may be? He said to give it a few weeks and see if it goes away. If it gets worse or doesn't go away I will call him.

  1. Additional Note:  See this, it's wonderful and can detect cancer WAY before a mammogram can!

I don't know if this will help any.....but I'm having a similar issue.  I have had a pain behind my right breast, more off to the side closer to under my arm and also directly behind the breast.  When I press, it is sore.  When I fall asleep during the night in bed, I wake up sore again.  The doctor took Xray's and nothing showed.  I went in 3 times, seeing 2 different doctors.  They repeat the same thing to me.  They are saying it's a "muscular" issue.  I'm to take 200mg's of Advil, Motrim, or Ibuprophen, 3 times a day.  I chose Advil.  The thing is, I've been doing this for AT LEAST 3 weeks now.  It's annoying.  They also mentioned "inflamation".   I check my b*****s for lumps, etc..... nothing shows, the doctors have both checked me, and I'm clear.  I just have this annoying and "sometimes" hurting pain.  So, that's all I can offer to you for now.  I am bothered by it, and I am really hoping it leaves SOON!

Maybe you have a similar thing going on....maybe?  Mine comes and goes in waves also.  It is rather frustrating, huh?

I hope it clears up for you and it goes away.  This is all I can offer to you at this point.

    Be well now.  :o)

  2. You got the opinion of your doctor, I don't understand why you are asking here.

I would agree it is either mechanical such as sore or inflamed tissue or having to do with gallbladder or liver.
