Question:

Pain when shimmying?

by  |  earlier

I am into belly dancing. When I try to do shimmies with my hips, after a few seconds, I feel sharp pains in my chest. I try to keep my chest still while I shimmy but I have even tried allowing some movement to attempt to ease the pain. Is it normal to have pains and is there anything I could do for this?

  1. I don't have pain in my chest while doing hip shimmies.  I don't think it is normal to have sharp pains.  Have you checked, and perhaps adjusted, your posture?  You may want to check with your physician.  If your physician finds nothing, you may want to adjust your workout to help strengthen muscles to help you with this problem.

  2. try taking deep breaths while shymmying. no, that is not normal. u should consult ur doctor.

    all the best,

and i really hope it goes away.
