I am a runner and yesterday when I went to put my tennis shoes on to cut the grass I had pain in my foot and had to loosen my shoes. When I went to run today I had the same pain and looked at my foot later and saw there is a round bump on my foot (it's where the foot almost turns into the leg, I believe the bump is on the ligament or tendon). Is this a bone spur or what? It's pretty painful when pressure is applied.

  1. Sounds like a bone spur.

  2. It might be swollen from tying your shoes too tight. Most runners tie their shoes too tight

  3. It could be. You should go to your doctor as soon as you can. Try icing and staying off your feet as much as possible. You don't want to worse the injury and not be able to run for 2-3 months.

  4. probably a planters wart, alot of marathoners get them. i had one once myself at first you dont know what it is, but it gets bigger and so painful running is out of the question, get it taken care of by your doc. now or it will be worse later.

  5. It can be callus, a remark hardened skin.

or because of your intense training, accumulation of fluids, making an edema, it causes pain because it is edematous, pain are cause by prostaglandin to the nerve endings.

I recommended you to apply cold compress and if you feel severed, i recommend you to consult a docotr for a referral.
