Painful hip?

Ok, Iwas running in track a couple of days ago and we where doing these runs after we where done for some reason i had this horible pain arround my upper hip area where my spine connects to my hip but just a little lower and more to the right. I don't know why this is happening because I strected befor i ran so i know i didn't pull a muscle but still it pains a lot i couldn't run for like 4 days without feeling the pain now it still pains but also it get really itchy right beside my spinel cord can it be a serious promblem or just something normal plz let me know i have another run in 2 days so i need to be able to be fit for that run plz help.

  1. I would use ice and rest.You might want to check with a sports trainer.There is one at this site who might be able to help.Good luck.


  2. I have this problem as well, and the onset was rather sudden and only affects my left hip. I have bursitis and there's lots of great advice on it on the web, especially @ the Mayo Clinic's site. Unfortunately, the only cure is to scale back on your running.  Since this was hard for my stubborn self to do, I took some advice and temporarily reduced my running.  When I started back, I now have to warm up for at least 10 minutes (and cool down 10 min) and do deep hip stretching as well. Check out the Mayo's site and see if it not only helps you diagnose your hip pain, but gives you some working solutions! Good luck! :)
