Paint colors for a bachelor pad?

My male friend just bought a condo.. right now it is VERY feminine (think daisy yellow). He wants me to pick some colors and I am sooo excited... but I want to get it just right. The condo is small (600 square feet) and pretty simple layout (hall, dining room, kitchen is all attached/open -- one bedroom).

So here is what I am thinking for colors -- PLEASE give me any suggestions or color ideas!! I typically like to use Behr, so if you have a suggestion in their color line, please let me know

I'm leaning toward three colors.... the main living area, a rich deep brown.. for the entrance/hall/kithen/bath, a soft tan/camel color.... finally, a deeper green for the bedroom.

I was looking at this color scheme (from Behr) as an example, but something about it just isn't working and I can't put my finger on it

I love the colors. Brown rabbit and Riviera sand are great. Mother nature seems a little dull, my personal preference is Grape vine.  Use it only on the wall behind yr bed, or it would make the bedroom look too small and dark. Use off white on the other walls and the room will come alive! You're doing great, have fun decorating.

if you are gonna be working on a studio apartment, keep in mind that in any living area, the darker the color-the smaller the room will appear.  With that in mind, painting a 600 square foot room BROWN might make it look like 400 square feet.  If you insist on going dark, then i'd suggest you counter by doing the ceiling White - it will make the room appear taller.  Brown is a difficult color to coordinate from my experience.  Just keep in mind that if you are looking for a three color scheme, two of the colors are complementary, meaning they complement each other, and the third color is supposed to be an accent color, meaning it highlights the complementaries.  Hope this helps.
