I'm thinking of repainting my room to match the old Hollywood theme I'm going for (Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and some other black and white photos I have on the wall). I'm not sure what color(s) I should paint my room, could anyone give me a clue?

Right now my room is painted two colors; a bright baby blue and green.

  1. A dusty cameo peach color - shoot for an elegant tone as opposed to one that looks country.

  2. I would paint it black and white with white on the ceiling and  wide horizontal stripes of black and white on the walls.(let's say the stripes could be 3 or 4 feet wide.

  3. Use golden colors like a deep brown and/or a warm red. Don't do the red and yellow thing, it is a cliche. The black and white would do well with anything.

  4. Wow. Cool theme. I would paint it white. even though that sounds kinda bland and I would frame the posters in black frames and use colored accesories.

  5. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think it would look terrific to do a graysih white like "site white" (# 7070).

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
