Paint entertainment center?

I have a cheapy entertainment center made of pressed laminate board. ( I got it at Big Lots!!! LOL) It is in an oaky wood color. I can't afford a good entertainment center but want to update my living space with warmer colors. I thought about painting it dark chocolate brown but am not sure if it will be paintable and look decent when its done. Any suggestions?

  1. My entertainment set is oak and I want to change colors. My walls is yellow, couch is chocolate/light tan carpet. What would be a good color to stain the entertainment set?
