  1. Come people, give them the right info not your opinions.

    Who spilled the paint?

    They are responsible.

If it was you, sorry,  go to the appliance stove and replace the elements.

If it was them, let them clean it or replace it.

  2. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.  Paint is already stinky so imagine adding heat to it to "burn it off," I'm not positive but it could lead to very toxic vapors.  Once the paint dries try scrapping it off with your finger nail.

  3. Holy c**p!! NO!! Don't burn it off! That's a huge fire hazard, first of all, and second, the fumes are nasty and may be toxic.

Get a paint cleaner, such as "Goof-Off" or use a paint remover like acetone to clean off the spots, then WASH the element off with hot soapy water (don't put it in the water--just use a sponge or cloth), and let it dry thoroughly in the air.

Then slowly--SLOWLY--heat up the element to see if the fumes are gone. If not, repeat the process with plenty of ventilation in the room, or the stove's exhaust fan on.

  4. I don't think I would burn it off.  There are toxic fumes that can be released, and with a pregnant woman in the house this could be dangerous to the baby.  Maybe you could try some paint thinner (open all the windows and have your daughter go somewhere else, b/c that has fumes too.).  Try a hardware store, they sell stuff you can use to remove paint.  Good luck, and don't listen to that landlord, sounds like he is just being lazy.

  5. yeah, if the paint isn't waterbased, I wouldn't burn it off, even then paint that smells, by natural instinct is harmful, if it smells bad it is bad, and no way in heck should you burn it off. Try an SOS pad, and if that doesn't work go to Menards, or something and ask them. Your landlord sounds like a big dumba$$

  6. yes it can be harmful, we had that problem when paint spilled on our gas heater and the smell was strong and really made us sick until we got it off
