  1. well its from the western side of the USA but nobody knows exactely where the first paint horse was bred

  2. Here is a link that will give you the best answer. No one really knows where they originated. The earliest reference to the paint colored horse was in 1519. The APHA was founded in 1960-1961 in Texas.

  3. Neither paints nor pintos originated in any particular state.  It's just a gene that crops up now and then in many breeds.  For quarter horses, it may have come in through the mustang.

Early QH breeders wanted to breed the spotted horses out of the breed, so a pure bred QH with spots was not allowed to be registered.  Some of the owners of these socalled "outcroppings" got together and established the Paint registry, which has become a breed in its own right.

Today, Quarter Horses with pinto markings can be registered QH, but they get a notation on their papers saying they've got a genetic defect, just as the HYPP positive horses do.  (To my mind, this is pathetically ridiculous, but they didn't ask me! :D  )

Today, Paint Horses must have at least one Paint registered parent, and the other parent must be QH, Thoroughbred, or another approved breed.

Pinto horses - which can be any breed or type, as long as they have the spotted coloring OR registered pinto parents - have their own registry, the APHA.

    Hope that helps!

  4. Now they came from Quarter horses, Not really any state,

I hope your talking about Pintos?
