Question:

Paint house yellow or white?

I'm debating changing the color of the exterior of my house. It's a South facing bungalow with a brick-color roof, brick planters in front, a deep red color door and yellow siding. The color of anything else (ex: shutters, railings, etc.) I'm willing to change. I'm debating changing the yellow to white and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about this or anything else I should consider. Thank you very much.

  1. a light yellow (not so loud) would do fine, I actually like that.

  2. I definetl think u should go with white!!!!! it is a far better color and u will like it for a long time. Yellow will get old and pee looking

  3. "Morgana" - Sounds like a quaint set-up. Try a sage green house with shutters and trim in a deep chocolate brown. The red door and of course the brick stay the same. The railings could also be done in the brown, or stay with black if you have the wrought iron thing going - which I love. I'm thinking if you went white, the red door may really jump out at you (or are you willing to change that - Red doors are really nice though). If you're looking at plants - try something in the red, like a red geranium, to coincide with the door, and maybe some "chocolate" flax to bring out the brown accents. Of course, plants need to be in the right "zone". Good luck - LT
