Question:

Paint on trim of wallboard?

We are remodeling a bathroom and have gotten to the painting part. We have installed wallboard over the drywall in the shower to tile. We decided to paint before we tiled and now we have paint all over the trim of the wallboard. Will that cause a problem with the tiling. I don't think it will personally but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

  1. Normally for horizontal surfaces it won't make much of a different. With vertical surfaces you need to roughen the surface or chip it so that the adheasive can hold. I have heard that tiles just fell off because the preparation was poor. I would rather put in the extra effort now even though it might be fine. If it is not you will be stuck with it. If you are renovating to sell don't worry about it.
