  1. you have to do 2 coats of white paint first, let dry, then proceed by painting your room with whatever color you want to.

  2. for best results, you need to buy a primer first to paint over all your walls.

primer is just a special white paint made to absorb the paint you will be covering it with. you can get it at any paint store. if you are painting your room a really dark color, you can skip the primer but the color may turn out a little different.

  3. yes u need primer.. if not the color u cover it with wont come out nice

  4. maybe you should put curtains on ur window or take em off

  5. You need a base coat to cover your existing color.  Anyone in a paint department can help you pick out the right one.  Then you can paint your new color on...

  6. Yes, you will have to paint it all white first. Sometimes you need to use a gray primer though, it all depends on what color you plan on painting it. Ask your local hardware store (Lowes, Home Depot, Diamond Vogel, Sherwin-Williams, etc).

  7. paint with primer first. a good idea is to mix a few drops of the new color in with your primer to give it a slight tint. i learned that trick on the diy network!

  8. go to store buy KILZ use about this as a base coat it will keep the under color from bleading through

  9. First buy some TSP to clean the walls. Get the primer tinted to the color you want your walls and prime. Let dry. Depending on how much color comes through you can prime over the darker ones to get an even shade of primer and then paint your walls.

I just painted silver/grey paint over some red gloss paint in my kitchen without primer and it looks good. Just depends on how good of a painter you are. But you need the primer since there are so many colors.

  10. Yes, you need to put a base color on there or it will take too many coats to cover the old color. Use a primer that matches the shade you are going to repaint.

  11. paint white color twice and then any other color.

  12. Yeah, but instead of just white paint you should use primer. It is supposed to go over painted walls to prepare the surface for painting. The primer is usually white based. Try using this and then repainting. I used primer to cover up my hot pink walls, and then paint them a deep purple.

  13. lots of primer.

  14. You need to put primer (white not grey) over your walls before you try to re-paint.

Also, when you buy your new paint, make sure to get either Satin or Matte finish.

  15. need to put on a white coat or two of primer first, then you can paint it any color you want

  16. Paint it with primer, and then whatever color you want.
