Paintball Question! Is my set-up good?

tippmann A-5 with RT

cyclone feeder

CO2 (im getting HPA soon)

"14" Xcel barrel

is 14inch too big for a tippmann?

it all depends what you are using it for like woods ball tippmanns are good buy not in speed ball if your playing speed ball get something like a invert mini, proto matrix rail those type of guns but definitely upgrade to compressed air and no that's a good sized barrel

First off, the cyclone feed isn't a upgrade, it can't feed over 15bps fast enough without a paddle upgrade,

2, its good that your making a switch to hpa but make sure you get AT LEAST a 68/4500 tank or your not going to last long(due to the cyclone and RT)

3, Xcel is not that great of a barrel, if you wanted a 14 get a J&J because it cleans breaks itself. And no 14 is perfect.

This is going to be great for woodsball but do not, DO NOT speed ball with this.

BTW co2 is dirty air, it spikes and makes your barrel wet which means your balls aren't flying straight.

I wouldn't say that your setup is bad...... but it's just a setup i would prefer.

1) You should switch from Tippman to Spyder - much more quality and more functions

2) You shouldn't use CO2 - use compressed air instead

3) No i don't think 14 Xcel barrel is too big :)

that is a rather nice set-up

I have a Diablo Mongoose II LED w/ eyes, Rhino feeder, pure energy 20oz CO2, about 14 or 15in barell (whatever came w/ it)

edit: DM, why isnt CO2 good?

That greatly depends...

Is it for speedball or woodsball...

If it's for speedball, no, it's not a good setup...

If for woodsball, which position do you play???

For a dagger, it might be a bit long, but I do know lot's of daggers who play with a setup like that, and they do fine...

If you're a sabre or broadsword, it's a good setup...

For a hammer, it doesn't have a high enough rate of fire...
