Paintball guns?

Question

i'm looking to buy a new paintball gun but know very little about the subject. I don't need a $1000 gun, only $150-250. Also if you could please inform me on additional upgrades that would be looked upon in favor of.

Well, what kind of paintball do you play? Woodsball, Airball, etc? As far as woodsball goes, a Tippmann is great and affordable! Get the most expensive one you can afford. Get it with ACT (Anti Chop Technology) if possible. As far as mods, you can change it to look like pretty much any type of army gun for not too much money.

If you are playing airball type of games, maybe a spyder or something similar. Not as many "mods" but should still have some upgrades available.

Either way, both guns work great out of the box. Try to purchase at a paintball shop rather than walmart, etc...

As far as other gear goes, get goggles, dont skimp on these, you could get decent ones for 25-75 dollars. Fans in them only make it harder to hear the crunching of leaves from your oponent. As far as fogging up goes, I would get Quick Spit Anti Fog Spray, you can find it for $5.00 online and will last forever. The gun should come with a Barrel Blocking Device, which is a must if you are going to an actual field.

Co2 or HPA? Co2 works great with either gun. HPA works great for high end markers. You may want to get an extra bottle in case you run out while playing.

Gen X Global and NXE both make a pod holder that holds 4 pods and 1 tank, if you get this, use 20oz co2 tanks. Also, with this you will need a remote line so that you can connect between the tank and the marker. otherwise you can use the tank right to the marker and put a bottle of water in the spare spot(even though you should never be taking your mask off to drink the water)..

Anything else? This is the basics.. I would buy the bare bones minimum and then add an item here or there once you start playing and seeing what other people are using and what they like.
