Painted hard wood floors?

Question

i already know how to paint hardwood floors. what i would like to know is what color(s) should i paint them. i have a very traditional house with many beiges and greens. pictures would be very helpful. thank you.

i would NOT paint hardwood floors. natural wood is beautitful.  painted hardwood is tacky!

If you are going to paint it you want to use a darker color that would ground it.  Example not tan or white, but a middle to darker brown.  However I would never paint a hardwood floor for a couple reasons, first good luck ever refinishing it to a stained finish, you will never get the paint off it....ever...second you ruin the resale value of the property again because it is impossible to get the stuff off.  You might look into colored stains if you are wanting to add something to the floor.  Check out this website....http://www.countrycottagefurniture.com/f... the wood stains and country color stains are listed there..

I strongly suggest that you don't paint the hardwood floors. They can be so beautiful if cleaned good and varnished. They are so expensive that to paint them would be a deterrent to selling the home and if you don't own it, please contact the owner before doing this.
