Painted miniatures?

Do miniatures, like reaper or warhammer, lose their value if they have already been painted?

  1. It really depends on the quality of the paint job. There are people who make their living off of painting various miniatures, and those that do it well make a pretty decent living.

    Pretty much after a miniature has been assembled and primed you can figure a price drop of about half, a bad paint job sits at about half as well, and if anyone wanted to repaint, there is the work of stripping and re-assembly/ priming that model to get ready to paint.

    Some models are rare, so they may command a higher price, but all in all half price (MSRP) is a good starting point for models.

    Nice painted miniatures can be quite valuable.

    I have no idea what price range we could be talking about.

    Ask your local Games Workshop store. They should have some information.
