Painted turtle could i get salmonella

Question

could i get salmonella from them if i got one because i want one so bad but i don't want to dye from getting one, i heard normallly the babys only cary it though

don't worry, all you have to do is make sure you wash your hands after holding them. ^_____^ You wont die, and it's always a caution when having reptiles. Just wash before you touch your face :)

if u decide to get a turtle and u handle it then u need to wash ur hands after. all reptiles carry salmonella therefore u must wash ur hands to prevent from getting it. and no u wouldnt die u just would get really sick. hope this helps make ur decision.

ps: im unaware to whether the turtles have to be under four inches

I have had a pet painted turtle for 15 yrs, and have at least 15 more years left with her.  Just wash your hands.  I was told that if the turtle has salmonella, they will die also.  So make sure you get a health little turtle.

wash your hands before and after you touch them and make sure the tank is clean at all times and you have nothing to worry about.
