  1. I wouldnt. theres too much danger involved. I began painting my whole house 2 years ago and half way through i had an accident (not related to house painting) any my wife was pregnant, and did not want to have the baby while the house was in a terrible mess. i told her repedatley not to worry about it because she could hurt herself or cause harm to our little one, but she was too stubborn and i couldnt do much as i was confied to a chair all day.

One day it didnt go so well and she had an accident, luckily enough it did no harm to our baby and she only had a few bruises, but after that day, i disallowed her to do anything like that.

Long story short, you have much more things to be proud of. You have a new life growing inside of you, dont worry about renovations and a new coat of paint. That can wait.. Believe me.

    All the best.

  2. It would depend on who is doing the renovating and how old your house is. If you have an older house is it quite possible that during the renovations you will run into lead and you don't want that floating around you and your baby. I would recommend that you have someone else do the work and you stay out of the house while it is going on, just to be safe. (Even with water based paints, the smell can still get to you) Hope this helps and congratulations on your baby :)
