Painting a old dresser?

Question

I'm painting an old dresser. I will be using a off-white color. There is stain on the dresser. My question is should use a brush, a roller or spray it. I was thinking the brush my leave strokes.

Oil  primer if stained wood.latex brush finish.

with an old dresser I would just paint over the stain with a primer.  It is unlikely to cause a problem.  I would also recommentd using  a brush as it is difficult to use a roller for small areas and I also presume you are using an oil based paint.  You will not get a good result with a roller

You should use Kiele's (not sure if spelled it right)  but it covers any stains then it won't bleed through your new paint job.  I would say roller cause with the roller you can paint more even than with a brush and not leave brush marks.

Degloss it with a sander/deglosser first, then prime it with oil based primer, followed by 2 coats of latex paint.

A brush will leave strokes, a roller will leave it's texture, if you are looking for super smooth then you want to spray, but getting a good spray is harder than it sounds.
