Question:

Painting help please!

So for the first time I was allowed to paint my room.

I shouldn't have.

It's hideous. Lines EVERYWHERE. And I'm pretty sure I didn't use enough paint.

Question is, can I fix it with a second coat? Or is it doomed to look like that now :(

  1. yeah second coat should do the job

  2. When you roll the paint on make sure you make quick movements. You need to feather the paint as best you can even with a roller. If you have too much paint and don't roll it on properly you will get lines. But if you have too little a paint you will have dryer/lighter looking patches.

Just get another coat there, and your good to go!

  3. You probably will have to put a second coat on your walls. Can I recommend that you try a product called 'Floetrol'. This is a liquid additive you mix with paint and what it does is it not only makes apply the paint so much easier but it will allow the paint to dry more consistently and evenly. It also allows the paint to go further and it gives you a wet line much longer. This product will not alter the color nor quality of the paint that your using. You can buy it at any paint store and I believe you can also buy it at Home depot and Lowe's.

  4. Yes a second coat will help. Be sure to stir your paint and apply with roller in a W pattern and roll out the paint from the W. That should help avoid the lines you are having.
