Question:

Painting instructions needed?

I want to paint the wall, but not the ceiling. I put 1/2" blue paint tape on ceiling. I don't really want to use a brush because a 9" roller seems to coat the walls better. I use a brush in the corners, though.

What do I use and how do i use it?

  1. you can buy a paint pad for that area.  It will give you good control and coverage.

  2. You have the right idea. I would do the corners first with the brush and around the wood trim in the room. Then finish up by painting the walls with the roller. Best of luck on your project!

  3. You'll still want to use the brush :)

You'v already taped, so you want to cut in with your brush, otherwise you won't get the paint RIGHT up to the ceiling and it will look weird later...If you have a small roller, 3 or 4" then run that along under where you just cut in with the brush, THEN use your 9" roller and roll as close to the ceiling as you can without  hitting the ceiling and making a mess.

Make sure that you roll to the same height all along the wall, like if you stop the roller 1" from the ceiling, then paint that far from the ceiling ALL along the wall.. it will show less imperfections as the eye won't see sporatic lines.

But cutting along up by the ceiling with a brush is still wise... even though you'v taped. It will show less.
