Question:

Painting lowering springs?

It's more of a car mod I'm going to do for my own satisfaction as you can't really see the lowering springs unless you're looking underneath.

The springs come white from the factory and I want to paint it red. However, overtime, the springs will compress and "settle."

So, I'm wondering, is there any kind of paint that you would recommend that wouldn't chip easily (as it does get dirty on the bottom of the car) and wouldn't wrinkle after a little compression? The drop will be mild - approximately 1.25 - 1.5 inches in the front and rear.

  1. typically they come powdercoated and they are that color as a 'trademark', which identifies the brand of springs you had installed.

if you want them to be red and stay red, you need them powdercoated and you need them off the car, have it done, let it cure, then get your work done.

  2. If they were mine, I would probably have them powdercoated
