Painting motocross rims?

i was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on painting my motocross rims (cr 125). i am planning on painting the whole rim hub and spokes black with a high gloss spray panit

only wannabe yuppie freestyle people paint thier rims black. If you paint tham black, just remeber the first time you ride, the paint will peel off. If you really want black rims, try buying a new pair.....

why??  umm, i guess if you want

take wheels off, tape off the spokes, tape off each spoke by itself, not in piarsor groups, so that each spoke is covered in tape,

sand the rims down with very fine sandpaper, like 500 grit or sumthing, then polish with 0000 grit steel wool,

ater that, clean it off, make surte the spokes are still taped off and primer it with flat black primer, do lite coats, do one coat, wait for it to dry then do another, wait for it, and rough it up with the 0000 steel wool, clean it and put on one more layer of primer, rough up with steel wool, clean and put on a few thin layers of high gloss spray paint, 2 or three layers, allowing to dry inbetween, then clearcoat it.

put on bike, go for a ride and watch it all come off after 2 or three rides

another approtch if you dont mind flat black would be to use that spray on bedliner ****, that would stick and stay on ALOT longer.

if i was u i would send them off to get powder coated....itll look and stay on better than spray paint!!;)

agree with Linker. Powder coat will be better.

It's just going to peal right off and it's going to look like c**p, For the time and money that you will spend having someone do it for you.

You can just go buy used set, check craiglist or ebay. better yet, just save your money and buy new ones.

Don't paint the rim. When your riding the wheel flexes and the paint will end up cracking and falling off.
