Painting per square foot?

Question

when a painter is charging per square foot is he charging for the foot print of the room or for allt eh walls plus ceilling.

lets say that i have an 12x10 room with 10foot ceilling. How much I will pay for the room if is charging 1 dolar per square foot !

The ceiling is 12x10 that's 120 sf, you have 2 12ft walls x10ft high that's 120sf each so that's another 240sf, now you have 2 10ft walls x10ft high that's 100sf ea so that's 200sf. 200+240+120=660sf or $660.00
