My room was a tan. So I painted a black and green stripe at the top of the wall but I made the black part to wide so I put painters tape over the part of the black that I wanted and when I went to paint the rest of the wall a bright Jupeior Orange the black didn't cover up I have already done 4 coats of paint and don't want to waste more what should I do?

  1. maybe paint over the black i know you dont want more paint but it has to be done somehow then redo the blck part!!

  2. You need to use a primer, a thick one coat primer and you'll probably need two coats with a black color. It's the only way you are going to cover that black up. Now, primer should be used all over if you want the orange to pop out and be the proper color, otherwise the tan is going to weigh it down and it will look far less than a bright orange.

Killz has a good one coat primer available at most stores. You'll find that painting over will always be difficult. Make sure the paint is completely dry before painting over it anymore.
