  1. best to use gloss for woodwork and emulsion for your walls.

  2.   Emulsion paint =  paint you use on walls.Polyfiller-  fill in cracksBasecoat-  only need to use once on a wall to cover green from plastering  if you've previously had wallpaper there,2 coats of this on THEN apply emulsion paint.Dont ever need to use basecoat again in that room.   Just go over it if you want a colour change.Gloss paint-  use on walls, window ledges if you have the old fashioned ones,  frieze(above)  and skirting bords(below)Professionals usually start by using the gloss paint first in these areasbefore embarking on the walls themselves.  However if you use a very delicate paintbrush its o.k to do it last if u're anxious to get the job done.Word of advice based on experience; Crown paint is simply awful stuffDulux is the best brand to use. Hope this has enlightened you.Enjoy decorating!  Have fun.

  3. Walls and ceilings. It is water-based. Woodwork and outdoor painting needs oil-based paint for greater resilliance.

you get different types of Enamel paint!

    Gloss Enamel & Eggshell Enamel...

    Gloss Enamel: shiny finish

    Eggshell Enamel: matt finish

You can paint you skirting & doors with both, just make sure that you use a proper wood primer....

  5. Water based emulsion is for interior walls only. It is not strong or flexible enough to do a proper job on wood, not as an undercoat either.

  6. no you need gloss for doors and skirting boards. as emulsion will rub off and the effect is not good  at all, gloss is what should be used

  7. Walls and Ceiling. Never wood or metals.
