  1. it really depends on how the paint job is done. If you paint it your self, it can look good if done right, but it will look better, if you have a professional do it.

If you decide to paint it your self, i would looking into some tips on making it look perfesional, i try to stay away from a spray painted look, although some times it can look good if done right.

Other than that, as long as it is sanded, and done properly it can't look any worse then the paint job you have.

  2. You would be better off selling the car to a private party and buying another similar value car. Repaints, especially a different color will de-grade the value at this point. Repaints are not cheap either. To properly repaint the car in a different color, most everything must come out or off if you want a quality job.

  3. 1. Black shows dust, not just dirt, very rapidly; I had a black 944.

    2. Changing the color of a car is VERY EXPENSIVE. All the door jambs, trunk and engine interiors, at least the ones that show, need to be painted.

    3. Have some black or other very dark accents or pin striping done to it instead.

  4. It must be painted by a pro. Stay away from places like Earl Shibes and Maaco. They do quick, cheap paint jobs. Ask around to see if there are any good body shops around. If you go to a car show and see a paint color that you like, ask the owner who painted it.

  5. Im no expert when it comes to paint jobs, but I think it just depends who paints your car, how experienced they are, how they go about preparing your car for painting, and all that factors into the cost.

Im pretty sure that to get a good quality paintjob, it is necessary to sand the car down to the bare metal, then work from there to paint it.

    Hope this helps you!
