  1. 5x+5y=1

    5y=1-5x

    y=(1-5x)/5

    y=-x+(1/5)

    5x-5y=9

    -5y=9-5x

    y=(9-5x)/-5

    y=x-(9/5)

    The slope of the second one is the negative reciprocal of the first so they are perpendicular lines
