Question:

Pairs Skating Question!?

by  |  earlier

I am a Juvenile (Soon to be Intermediate) level skater. My best friend Storm (Who is a guy) asked me to do pairs skating with him. I thought it would be really fun, except I skate the other direction. Would this still be possible???

Thanks!

  1. they were in novice, it was emily and chris and i dont really remember their last names but they broke apart 2 years ago.

  2. this will add some obstacles to your skating, but it is possible. unfortunately however, i do believe that one of you will have to learn a lot of things on their other foot, because when spinning and such im prettty sure you must spin together. you must remeber that pairs skating is about unity and togetherness, so a lot of the things will have to be done on the same foot, which will be more akward for whichever one of you choses to do so. but if you feel as if he would be a really good partner, it may be worth the obstacles. pairs partners must depelop a strong relationship of trust and friendship, and if you already know him well, this may be a head start. there will be a lot to overcome, but there will still be some things that you will be able to do on different feet. i hope it works out.. and have fun out there on the ice!
