Pairsian restaurants?

I'm looking for cheap yet amazing restaurants in Paris. I'm leaving this thrusday for a three night break with my 13 year old daughter. We'll be eating out for at least 2 dinners and 2 lunches (at other times, we may just have some bread or snacks) preferably at Aunthentic and friendly restaurants.

And does anyone know of any amazing patisseries or food shops??

Thanks

Liz

  1. Hmmm...this question has been asked several times recently.  Again, here are my favorite eating places.

Les Canons des Gobelins outside the Gobelins metro station (try the Panini Rome)

Les Philosophes in the Marais (the lamb was outstanding)

Le Tresor in the Marais (very good steak frites)

L'allouette on rue de la Glaciere (also very good steak and profiteroles)

  2. For lunch, I like to eat at Ladurée, rue royale.

For Dinner, I like Kong, rue Pont Neuf.

You'll find amazing patisseries at Pierre Hermé, rue bonaparte.

for the food, try Fauchon, lafayette gourmand or Le Bon Marché.

  3. La Methode at 2 rue Descartes in the 5th arrondissement is my current favorite restaurant. They are small, very friendly and reasonably priced.

Here's a little video of the place: http://www.paris-zoom.com/video/238/La-M...

Get a table in the room in the back and have the Pain perdu for dessert. (That's what you'd probably call "French Toast" but its really like nothing you've had and a dessert rather than a breakfast dish in France).
