1. southeast

i guess ozmaniac will be getting the 10 points

  2. Some 60 km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, Pakenham is centrally located in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, on the fringe of central and south Gippsland. Pakenham is serviced by an electric railway line from Melbourne and is close to a diversity of nature based experiences and historical features such as mountain ash forests, bush and parklands to its north, while a comfortable drive south takes you to mangrove-fringed seashores.

The nearby Dandenong Ranges offer the famous Puffing Billy Railway, Bunyip State Park, Gumbuya Park, Warrook Cattle Farm and walking trails meandering through magnificent natural bush.

Pakenham is home to a quality retail centre and is host to a diversity of tourism support services, including accommodation facilities, art and craft and retail outlets, restaurants, cafes and hotels.

    EDIT:

Ray, it's not playing the game to copy someone else's answer.

  6. south east, not the nicest of areas. On a bad train line, watch for violence on trains and around stations (bus, train, etc) at night, cheap housing out that way because it's so far from melbourne. It's about 50-55 kms from Melbourne i think, not too sure though...
